Ein Modul bauen

Building a module

For the person who puts the module together and signs it: which kinds of building block exist, how the application checks them, and what currently runs through Vivodepot.

AufbauStructure

Arten von Bausteinen

Kinds of building block

Every building block is a file with a fixed type. The application keeps a fixed list of types, each with its own slot and its own check; it rejects an unknown type. Four types matter most to organisations:

  1. Bereich: eine Rubrik mit eigenen Feldern.
  3. Rechtsraum: Dokumente und Regeln eines Rechtsraums.
  4. Branding: Name, Logo und Farben einer Einrichtung.
  1. Area: a section with its own fields.
  2. Language module: the interface texts in a further language.
  3. Jurisdiction: the documents and rules of a jurisdiction.
  4. Branding: an organisation’s name, logo and colours.

The Studio also produces further building blocks, such as institution type, format and family sheet, as well as templates. Any building block can be a module or a template; the route into the application decides, not the type.

Im Studio(öffnet in neuem Fenster)(opens in a new window) wählen Sie die Art des Bausteins, legen die Inhalte fest und exportieren die Moduldatei. Felder verweisen auf das öffentliche Feldregister(öffnet in neuem Fenster)(opens in a new window), in dem jede Angabe eine feste Kennung hat.

In the Studio(öffnet in neuem Fenster)(opens in a new window) you choose the type of building block, set the contents and export the module file. Fields reference the public field register(öffnet in neuem Fenster)(opens in a new window), where every detail has a fixed identifier.

For jurisdiction, institution type and branding, the Studio uses the same check as the application to test, before you submit, whether the application will accept the module. Vivodepot checks the other types after submission.

SignaturSignature

Zertifikatskette und Prüfung

Certificate chain and checking

A signed module carries the module signature and your organisation’s provider certificate. The application checks in this order:

  3. Die Modulsignatur gegen den öffentlichen Schlüssel aus Ihrem Zertifikat.
  1. The provider certificate against the Vivodepot anchor built into the application. If it was issued by an issuing office, the application first checks that office’s certificate against the anchor.
  2. Validity and revocation list: the application rejects an expired certificate, and one that is on the revocation list shipped with it.
  3. The module signature against the public key from your certificate.

The certificate determines the origin the application displays: “verified” with the body’s role, or “signed, not recognized”. The application reads in a file without a signature only after asking, and shows it as “unsigned”; it accepts branding only with a verified signature. The check runs without an internet connection; its source code is part of the open core and is on GitHub(öffnet in neuem Fenster)(opens in a new window). The core’s source code is public on GitHub; every public release carries its own tag. Vivodepot’s templates and some of its signing and certificate tools are not part of the open core.

Über Vivodepot

Through Vivodepot

You currently apply for the provider certificate directly with Vivodepot; there is not yet a separate access through which you can trigger it yourself. Before Vivodepot issues a certificate, we check who the organisation is. The certificate does not confirm the content of your module.

Vivodepot builds an application of your own with your modules and templates under a contract. It is a single file; a new version comes as a new file.
